Getting started for salon owners

Updated

Embrly is built around one loop: you set a weekly theme, your stylists post to their own Instagram accounts, and you see who's taking part. You're aligning the team, not running their accounts. This walks you through the first hour of setup and the first week of use.

On the web: Dashboard · In the app: Home

1. Create your salon

Sign in with a magic link — Embrly has no passwords. Enter your email, tap the link in the message, and you're in. In the app, onboarding asks for your salon name, your team size, a first theme, and then walks you through your own stylist setup (services, brands, caption voice, your name and stone). Owners post too, and doing your own setup shows you exactly what your team will see.

2. Fill in your salon page

On the web: Dashboard → Salon

This is your public page at embrly.app: slug, city, socials, brands you use, visibility, plus your logo, header, and vibe images. It's the page clients land on from a stylist's link or from Discover, so it's worth ten minutes.

3. Set this week's theme

On the web: Dashboard → Themes

A theme has a title ("Valentine's glam"), a short brief, an optional hashtag pack, and post ideas — one per line. You can plan future weeks in the same sitting, and the theme library gives you proven starting points grouped as In season now, Evergreen, and Later this year. Pick one and it fills the form for you to edit.

4. Invite your team

On the web: Dashboard → Team · In the app: Settings → Team

Generate an invite code and hand it out. Each code can be copied, shared as a link, or shown as a QR for people to scan at a staff meeting. Codes expire after 14 days, and you can revoke any of them at any time. See Seats and team management for how seats work.

What the first week looks like

  • Monday 9am (your salon's timezone) — everyone with the app gets the theme as a push notification.
  • Monday 8am — you get an owner digest: how many people posted last week and the top streak.
  • Wednesday 6pm — anyone who hasn't posted gets a nudge with one post idea from your theme. It's written in Embrly's voice, never yours.
  • Sunday 3pm — anyone whose streak is about to break gets one reminder.

Each nudge kind arrives at most once a week per stylist — the Monday theme launch, the Wednesday idea, the Sunday streak check — honours each person's days off and quiet hours, and every stylist can turn them off in their own settings.

Your first-run checklist

While your salon is new, the dashboard shows a three-step checklist instead of a wall of zeros: invite your team, set this week's theme, capture the first look. Capturing happens in the app, at the chair — themes, invites and kudos are all desk work you can do on the web.

What you'll see, and what you won't

You'll see participation, looks, reactions, notes, page views and booking taps for your salon. You will not see a stylist's unshared or unconsented captures, and you won't see per-stylist revenue — booked value is reported for the salon as a whole. That boundary is enforced in the database, not just in the interface.

New salons start on a free trial — Settings shows exactly how long is left on yours. The plans are compared in Plans and pricing; payment is managed on the web in Settings → Billing.
