Account settings, editing and deleting
Updated
Embrly is two surfaces on one account. The app handles what happens at the chair; embrly.app handles desk work — your profile, your salon page, your plan, and anything permanent.
On the web: Dashboard → Settings · In the app: Settings
Settings on the web
Settings holds Account (your email — Embrly has no passwords, so there's nothing to change), Billing, Notifications (nudges, days, quiet hours), Caption voice (sample captions that teach Embrly how you write — private to you), and a Delete account section at the bottom.
[Profile](/dashboard/profile) is your public page: name, page link, bio, city, services, booking link, average ticket, brands, socials, the "meet you" answers, your avatar and vibe photos, your experience and service menu, and the Publish my page / Show me on Discover switches.
[Salon](/dashboard/salon), for owners and managers, holds the salon's logo, header and vibe photos, page link, city, socials, products you use, and Show in Discover.
Settings in the app
The app mirrors most of it: your name, nudges, salon page and photos, brands, team visibility, your stone, caption voice samples, your public page, Instagram setup, and team management. Plan & billing is status only — it shows where you stand, then a single row, Manage your plan at embrly.app. There are no prices and no purchase buttons in the app by design.
Editing and deleting looks
Captions are edited before you share. Once a look is saved it isn't rewritten — you add consent to it, add or remove it from the salon gallery, or remove it.
Remove one post (from a look with more than one): "It disappears from your team's Wins feed and your public page. Your Instagram post is untouched."
Delete look removes the whole thing — photos, posts, and its consent record — and it can't be undone. Anything you already posted to Instagram or TikTok lives on your accounts, not ours, so manage those there.
Deleting is the right tool when a client asks you to take their photos down.
Client notes
You can hide a note, never edit one. Hidden isn't deleted: the note stays in your list, it just leaves your page. You can show it again later. Client notes are their words, so the ability to reword them doesn't exist — not in the interface and not underneath it.
Cancelling your plan
Where you cancel depends on where you bought the plan. Subscribed in the app? It's billed by the App Store or Google Play — cancel it in your phone's subscription settings (iPhone: Settings → your name → Subscriptions; Android: Play Store → profile → Payments & subscriptions); the app's plan row takes you there. Subscribed on the web? Open Settings on the web, press Manage billing, and cancel in the Stripe portal. Either way the plan ends at the end of the period you've already paid for, and your Billing panel switches from "renews" to "ends" on that date. See Billing and subscriptions.
After it ends, nothing is taken away. Your looks, clients, notes, page and settings stay put and stay visible. What stops is starting new work: capturing, importing past work, generating captions, and publishing a page for the first time. Viewing, editing what you have, unpublishing, and billing all keep working. Picking a plan again turns the camera back on.
Deleting your account
Permanent, immediate, and available to you directly — you don't have to ask.
In the app: Settings → Delete account → confirm Delete everything.
On the web: Settings → Delete account → Delete my account…, then type DELETE to confirm.
Either route removes your account, your captures and their photos, your posts, consent records, client notes, service menu, streaks and milestones, and your public page. It can't be undone and we can't restore it for you. Residual copies age out of encrypted backups within 30 days.
Two things to know first. If you own a salon that still has team members, deletion is refused until you remove them or hand the salon over. And an active web plan is cancelled as part of deletion, with no refund for the remainder of the period — so cancel first if the timing matters to you. A plan billed through the App Store or Google Play is different: Embrly can't cancel a store subscription for you, so deletion asks you to cancel it in your store's subscription settings first.
If you can't sign in at all, email privacy@embrly.app from the address on your account with the subject "Account deletion request". Full details are at /data-deletion.
