Your portfolio and your handle
Updated
Every stylist on Embrly gets a public page at embrly.app/@yourname. It's your link-in-bio: your shared looks, your services, your booking link, your client notes. It belongs to you, not your salon — if you change chairs, the page and the work come with you.
In the app: Gallery tab → Page (top right), or Settings → Your public page. On the web you can edit the same fields at Dashboard → Profile.
Claiming your handle
Open the Your page screen in the app and find the Link name field. Type the name you want — 3 to 40 letters, numbers, or dashes, like jess-does-hair. The line underneath previews the real link (embrly.app/@jess-does-hair) as you type.
A few things worth knowing:
- You already have a working link. Before you pick a name, your page answers on an automatic ID-based address. It works; it's just not something you'd say out loud.
- Names are first-come. If someone already uses the name — a stylist or a salon — the app tells you and you'll need another one.
- On a trial or without a subscription, the name you type is held as your wish: your page keeps its current address for now, and Embrly switches you to the name you picked once you subscribe. The app is honest about this — it can't reserve the name for you in the meantime.
Once your page is live, the header of the screen gains a View ↗ link, plus Copy link for your IG bio and Share ↗.
Publishing
Your page is private until you say otherwise. Scroll to the bottom of the Your page screen and turn on Publish my page. That opens embrly.app/@yourhandle to anyone with the link. You can turn it off again at any time.
Under it sits a second switch, Show me on Discover. That one puts you on Embrly's public /discover feed and its city and specialty pages, so local clients browsing for a look can land on you. It switches on automatically once your page is published and you've shared three consented looks — the same bar as the Discovered Gem. Untick it any time to opt out.
What actually appears on your page
Only work you've deliberately shared, and only where a client consented. Specifically:
- Your name, photo and bio, plus your city if you added one.
- Your shared looks — tap one and it flips to reveal the before.
- A booking button. It uses your booking link; if you haven't added one it falls back to your Instagram, then your website.
- Your Gems — the earned milestones from your real activity. A client can tap one to see what it means.
- Verified client notes, if clients have left any via the in-chair QR.
- Your history and experience, the products you use, and the extra "getting to know you" answers you filled in (first visit, how you consult, languages, off the clock).
Unshared captures, drafts, and anything a client didn't consent to never reach the page. Neither does anything you posted as My own while working at a salon — that stays off the salon's page and out of team stats.
Keeping it useful
- Add the booking link first. Everything else on the page exists to get someone to tap that button.
- Fill in Services and Brands. They power the filter chips clients see and the "works with" line on your page.
- Share consistently rather than perfectly. The page is built from your shared looks, so it grows on its own once capturing is a habit.
- Put the link in your Instagram bio. Use Copy link for your IG bio so there's no typo between the app and the profile.
