Posting looks — before & after

This is the loop the whole app is built around: shoot the before, do the hair, shoot the after, get a caption, share. It takes about thirty seconds at the end of a service, and it fills your page, your streak, and your Gems.

Shooting the before and after

Tap the capture button. The pill at the top tells you which shot you're on — BEFORE, then AFTER.

• Shoot the before first, while your client is still in the cape.
• The after lines itself up. Come back to the capture button and a faint version of your before sits over the viewfinder. Tap Overlay on / Overlay off to hide it.
• No before? Tap Skip and just shoot the after. A look with only an after is still a look.
• Found the before later? Open the look from your gallery and tap Add the before — it pulls the shot in from your camera roll.
• Importing past work with the befores in the batch? In Add past work, tap the before shot, then tap its after — the two photos join into one look with the flip. Tap ⇄ on a paired tile if they ended up backwards, or ✕ to split them again.
• Already have the photos? Tap Upload from your photos on either step.
• Long service? Tap Later after the before. Your shot is parked and waits — hours, days, a phone restart — and the camera shows how many looks you have going. Nothing expires.
• Not a transformation? Before the first shot you can switch to Product or Process. They share and build your page like anything else; they just don't feed Discover or the Craft Book, which are reserved for real transformations.

On the review screen you pick a Layout for the shared image (Side by side or Top / bottom), tag the Service, and set Client consent. Without consent, the photo stays private to you and can't be shared anywhere. Turn it on, add your client's name or initials, and confirm they're 18 or older. Then Save to my work.

Coach this shot gives you a read on lighting, framing and background while a reshoot is still one tap away. It uses one of your monthly AI assists.

Captions in your voice

Saving takes you to Write your caption.

1. Pick a Tone — Playful, Balanced, or Editorial.
2. Tap Generate captions. Swipe the options and tap one to drop it into your caption box.
3. Edit it. It's your caption — change anything.

To make them sound more like you, go to Settings → Caption voice samples and paste in a handful of real captions you've written; everything generated afterwards follows your phrasing. The compose screen offers this as Add my voice › if you haven't done it yet.

A counter under the button shows how many AI assists you have left this month. They refresh on the 1st. When they run out, everything still works — you just write your own.

On a salon team, a Post as control appears: Team puts the look in the salon's Wins feed and lets it be featured on the salon page; My own keeps it purely yours.

Sharing to Instagram

Tap Share to Instagram. Your caption is copied to your clipboard and your phone's share sheet opens with the image — a before/after composite if you shot both. Pick Instagram, then long-press the caption box and paste.

Instagram doesn't accept pre-filled captions from other apps, which is why Embrly puts yours on the clipboard instead. It's one paste.

When you come back, Embrly asks Posted to Instagram? Tap Yes, I posted and the look counts toward your week, your streak and your page. Tap Not yet if you got interrupted; nothing is lost. Save as draft keeps the caption with the look for later.

"Not connected" is normal

Embrly does not log in to your Instagram account and does not post on your behalf. Your personal account stays yours; your salon owner never gets access to it. That's deliberate — if you see Instagram described as not connected, that is the ordinary, expected state and there is nothing to fix.

Later, Embrly will be able to detect your posts automatically and pull your reach into your wins. That only works for free professional (Creator or Business) Instagram accounts, so Settings has an Instagram professional setup walkthrough. It's optional, takes about a minute, and either account type works the same.
